Alpine type X 12

Ok i have an alpine type x12 (swx-1243d). And it has one possibly two voice coils that are blown.It will still play if i hook it up but it sounds like **** and has a crunching sound when you push on the cone. I have no idea how to recone or rebuild subs so i was jus wondering how much do you guys think i shud try to get rid of this thing for? I know shipping will be expensive but i am not looking to make much money. if anyone has any advice or an offer feel free. Other than the bad voicecoils it looks cosmetically very good. And i think its the older type x too

contact splaudio on here, he can custom build you a sub mo problem out of the frame and motor and it will be cheaper then buying a new one i promise you that

that is so funny. i have an alpine type r swr-m100 marine subwoofer for my boat and i have the same EXACT symptoms as you. sometimes it plays but sounds like **** and crunching. when i push down it sounds scratchy. i mean i only paid 100 for it but still.

i had a alpine type r back in the day that went up in smoke and a coil blew on it. but it still sounded ok. i was only putting 600wrms and it was 750rms sub. whomp :/

nah i dont think so bro lol. i never knew **** about car audio till i joined this forum. that sub was rated at 300rms and i think my gain was set to like 47 volts on my alpine mrp-m500 amp. and that was on 4ohms on my sub it had to be my fault.
