alpine type s sounding like SHlT

My old system was 2 12" type s running off 250 rms each in a sealed box. I impressed everyone who listen to them because they were so loud and clean. It was louder than most of my friends with 2 12's ported (most of them were sony quality subs though). The subs were in a larger sealed box, probably 1.5 cuft per sub. The box was specifically made for these subs it was blue and black vinyl with a silver front. May be it is your box, because my subs were very loud and clean.
