alpine type s or infinity reference 4x6's

got the bass, now i need the mids/highs .... im lookin at either alpine type S 4x6's or infinity reference 4x6's which will each be around 60ish shipped ...

also the stock speakers were "plate speakers" in the front so does that mean i have to put another plate speaker in place of it? like here for example

notice how the infinity's have a seperate round woofer and tweeter on the same plate while the alpine's have the entire oval woofer taking up the entire space while it has the tweeter mounted co-axil .. does this mean the alpine's would push more air makin it louder?

i recently put 2 pairs of the infinity reference 4x6s in my dads truck ran off the hu and they sound great.

so i would recommend the infinity over the alpine.

if its the 06 type s then i might go for it since they beefed them up for example the 6 .5 '' door kick does 50 rms rather than 30 which is what previous models have done.However i have not had the type s's i had the type r door speakers and they freaking kill....but i would toss my hat into the ring for alpine since after the remake of the speakers they would compare with the type r's

however i think the type s tweeter is not silk and the r model is silk

I have ran both and for me it is a toss up. I would think you would be happy with either one. I like them both.

the tweeters are kinda harsh with the type s'

but other than that im pretty happy with mine.
