my amp gets its most power at 2ohm and i want a pair of 12 alpine type r, but i read i would get the most out of the subs if i get the 2ohm+2ohm ones isntead of the 4ohms+4ohms and the 2ohms are rated at 300wrms and the 4ohms at 500wrms. which would be better off for me getting the 2 ohms and getting the most out of my amp or getting the 4ohms and getting more rms out of the sub? or is there 2ohms+2ohms type r that are rated 500wrms? thanks

You must be looking at last years 2+2 type R which handled 300rms. Alpine has the 2+2 version at 500rms on their site but I haven't seen it in stores when I was shopping around a month ago, model number should be swr-1222d

i have 2 of the 500w 2ohm's installed them last week sound good so far I need to build a ported box though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

dude get the d4 ohms they r more compatible with the ordinary amp, even me i have a 1 ohm satble amp , you just have a better option of how you wanna set it up ....and yes the new 1500w alpines get loud! screw JL w6v2! alpines handle more power.... as lil jon would say...Yeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!
