Alpine Type-r Hifonics amp help

well i have a hifonics 1200watt pushin my 2 alpine type-r's 2ohms 500watts rms

i am thinkin of going with the hifonics 1600 or the 2000watt but not sure witch one

right now the gains on the 1200watt are almost maxed and i don't like puttin that stress on the amp so they are turned down for amp safty. but i want it to hit so time for a new amp

I dont think you need a new amp there is most likely a reason they are not "hitting hard". Also the gain is not a volume knob set it correctly

no they are not ported they are in a nice size sealed box.

but i feel the amp is not puttin enough power out cause my settings have to be way to high to get the right amount of power out of them.

but also 900watts to 1200watts it quite under powered

cause each type-r can take 600-700 rms no problem

when i could go with the 1600 and run 1100watts to 1200watts or 1600watts to 1200watts

I dono where you are coming up with them crazy numbers, but who cares.

Go ported it takes much more power for a sealed sub to perform the same as a sub in a ported enclosure.

Yes they can take 600-700w even more but i think you will be more than surprised was a properly designed and built ported enclosure will do

what type. Is it just a prefab. If it isnt whats the size and tunin of the box. Man ur not gonna get mouch more output with 100-200 more watts to each sub. Make a new box to better suit ur needs.

first off, those subs will do MUCH better ported, 5cu ft tuned to 34hz will get those banging.

and you wont need more then that Bxi1606, give those R's 700rms a piece and they should wang pretty good without gettin stinky
