Alpine Type R, choosing right model? help!

You guys are right. It wasnt labeled DVC and I suppose I was assuming. And i was wrong of course. Also since the version is 'new' it threw me off

Anyhow so it looks like Im good to go. The last weird thing is is that my Alpine PDX 1.1000 amp has 2 outputs, but is 1 channel. Because of the hookup, its still the same as the two 4ohm DVC to make 4ohm output, correct? I guess the internal electronics are doing the bridging of the 2 subs so I dont need to at the sub itself.

Yes, it's internally joined. So it's still one channel... easier for the user of the amplifier to do his wiring instead of jamming 2 wires in a small terminal.

Ok great. I think Ive narrowed this down. My last thing (sorry to beat a dead horse) on the 2ohm vs 4ohm. I would think leaving everything at 4phm means the amp doesnt have to work as hard. And since my amp makes same power at both, this is the better option.

Likewise, selling or reusing the 4ohm subs would be easier than the 2ohms

i'd go with dual 4 ohm. that way you can wire them up to 4 ohms and still get 1000w.

basically...

1000w @ 2 ohms = more current draw

1000w @ 4 ohms = less current draw

I'm in fort lauderdale area. You're welcome to suggest better subs. For two type r 12s I'm looking at about 260 shipped.

My other concern was that I wanna keep my box which is about 1.1 cu ft per sub. And of course I have the 1000w amp so 500-600w rms per sub
