Alpine Type R 12" vs Sundown SA12s

Dont mean to start a flame war but pricing is comparable between the two. My box is a sealed enclosure for 2 12s with approx 1.0ft volume per sub. Wondering which would be better and if there is another sub in this price range to suggest over these, Im all ears.

If you aren't abusing the subs and if you aren't porting them you won't realize the advantages of the SA line -- if you think you may up your power and/or run them ported later the SA is a great choice.

Out of "large company" drivers in this class the Type-R is one of the best.

But be warned - some people like the sound of Type Rs in a sealed box, but others don't. I've personally never heard them in anything other than a vented enclosure, but that's just what I've heard.

oWNED BOTH AND TYPE RS dont really like over their rated power and sundown sa12s love my saz 3500 @ .5ohm without any issues and sound way better. Type r's love more than there rated power, maybe you did something wrong?

I put a solid 2200 to a pair of the new Rs. they took it fine
