Wow, I guess that would sound like a pretty strange thing to do if you don't work at a shop. If you need a sub to be blown for warranty purposes, you plug it in to the wall and fry the piss out of the voice coil. Most subs last 5-10 seconds. We had a Type R 10" that somehow we randomly ended up with at a shop I worked at that wasn't an Alpine dealer, so we plugged it in to the wall to see how long it would last. To all of our amazement it won the world title, it must have lasted 10 minutes... we had it turned over, cone facing down playing into the concrete, and didn't stop until someone stood on it. So there's my explanation, sorry for saying such a weird thing without an explanation. But it is really fun to do, especially when you have like 4 to series together!!
