New bass head here....I recently bought an Alpine Type R Sub (SWR-1242D) and i bought a Pioneer 1200w max amp (GM-D8500M). The amp is a Class D Mono. and for some reason the sub isnt hitting AT ALL. It gets a little bass, but not enough to notice when the trunk is closed. I checked to see if the "phase" was correct it is, and i have the jumpers set correctly per the instructions...i dunno what else to do besides going to best buy and smacking the whole car audio dept. until i get some satisfaction...any hep would be appreciated.

is the amp not powerful enough for the sub? im looking at the box that the amp came in, and it says 300w at 4ohms, and i know the sub is a 4ohm sub...i read somewhere that the sub might have problems with certain amps..

I would just go with a ported box tuned from 32 hz. - 35 hz.
