alpine type r 10"

I know type r 12"s were te talk of the forum awhile ago, and that giving them around 1k rms in the right ported enclosure was suggested as best. But what can the 10's handle? I know they are rated at 500wrms. Can they take more in the right enclosure? Looking to change things up in my setup and was thinking of two type r 10's or two pioneer premier spl 10's. Anyway, throw out your opinions.

My opinion is......the 10"er uses the same coil as the 12"er so it should handle the same power.
