OK here's the scoop................ I was plan on getting the Alpine 9815. Great features plus a whole shit load of people were giving it high remarks so that made me leaned more towards it. But I was doing alittle research and the new eclipse head units come out I was told next month by my local dealer. Now my question is should I wait till see how the new eclipse stand up to the Alpine? I know it's personal prefernce and I like the way the eclipse looks but it's all about the quality and features. Any kind of input would be nice.

Eclipse doesnt offer any authorized online dealers. In fact i think it voids any type of warrenty just like any other products usually.

As far as any type of online sellers... I have no clue. I have yet to see one myself, i believe. You may wanna try ebay.

Originally posted by shadybutclever Is there any place on the net that are authorized dealers for Eclipse products or for the matter sell Eclipse products. Been having trouble finding places. The local dealers are kind of expensive.
Eclipse has no authorized online dealers. As for Eclipse vs Alpine, it comes down to this IMO.

Better sound: Eclipse

more features: Alpine

The local shop's prices shouldn't be too bad(since I think full retail price on the 2003 eclipses are pretty reasonable). Tell us what eclipse you were looking at, and I can tell you what retail price is.

Eclipse is hands down the better head unit. It is extremely hard to find any Eclipse items online because they hunt down their items and sue the dealers that let them get there. Online dealers get their items for authorized dealers at discounts and pass them on. If you get a deal lower than dealer price, it is probably unauthorized class B stock and those most often break within weeks of receiving. Eclipse and many other top line companies track their items with serial numbers and sue the dealers that let them get online as well as the online dealership.

Eclipse is by far the most adamant about keeping their decks out of the hands of online sellers. The other major brands are available EVERYWHERE online it seems.

Yes they are. I also feel they are the best affordable Head Unit brand for most systems. Before I get flamed, I said brand, not individual models vs models.

Thanks for all the input. Went to my dealer and went with the eclipse cd8053. Had to special order it for they don't carry it. So far my set-up are 2 12' brahmas, 2 sets of Kodas components (when ever they get here having alittle trouble with the shipping part for the adire products). Still working on the amps though. Thanks again for the input and me preferally I'll go for quality over features.

That system is gonna be so wang. But why did you go with 2 sets of Koda's?

Well I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee so I was thinking of the space part which I think I have plenty of. The reason for the 2 sets were for sound quality and loudness I guess. I have the money to spend for a nice system and I am doing alot of research on my part checking what's hot and what's not. Some say that I am overdoing it but I say you only live once might as well do it right. What's your input on this set-up? I was originally going to go the the ed.1 amps but due to their lack of not meeting orders I have to go a different route.
