Alpine MRV-500d staying on

I have a 2021 Ford Edge SEL, stock audio system. I built a sub box with 2 - 10" woofers driven by an Alpine MRV-500d mono class d amp. I am using the high level inputs which obviates the need for remote turn on, according to the manual, and that works ok. Amp turns on and soundsgreat. However, when I turn the head unit off or shut the car off, the amp stays on. There shouldn't any signal to the speakers when the car is off, unless the Ford system does something wierd.

I'd put a multimeter on those speaker wires to see what's going on.
