alpine midbass kit

Hey guys i was wondering if anyone new anything about Alpines midbass kit. To me it looks like the type-x speakers that come with the 177r components without the tweeter.

I wondering if the crossover is set that so it is bandpassed in the midbass regions 100-300 hz (?) so that we can hook it up straight to a channel on an amplifier or if we can hook it up to our 177r component crossovers?

I found the answer to my own question. Looks like the 17mb midbass kit is to be added to the spx 177r components to make it a 3 way component set with 2 crossovers...just letting anyone whos interested know....

so that would be about 400 for the set of 177r + 17mb kit to make it a 3way....I'm curious to know what you guys think about it...especially the guys with the 177r's.....

isn't that just a diff mid-bass driver? say replacing the type r mid with the type x mid, ect? idk, that's the impresion i got..????

I went to alpine's website and looked at the maanual for it. I dont think its to be used with the type r components. It connects the crossover that comes with the midbass kit to the extra connections on the crossover of the 177r type x components. and if you want you can buy 2 midbass kits to make it duall midbass ( 1 tweeter, 1 midrange, and 2 midbass) I've heard that the 177r type x components sound pretty good and if anyone wants more midbass then the 17mb kit is an easy upgrade. I think its a lil expensive but its still pretty cool. Better than having to get rid of a set of 2 way components and then buying a new 3 way for more midbass.
