Alpine IMPRINT MultEQ for CDA-9887 Problems

So I have the KTX-100EQ and spent the time tuning it. I had the mic set up on a tripod in my car, on each position that the software manager told me to place it. I performed the test on all 6 locations, and made sure there were no noises during the test.

I have front and rear speakers, no subs. All powered from a 4ch amp with all crossovers on the amp set to full.

When it was done, I saved the curve settings and turned it on. When I turned it on, it seemed dull and empty. There were no highs, and it the music sounded... "hollow". When I turned the MultEQ off, it sounded great(my own settings)... what was done wrong? Any ideas?

I had the USB connected from the PC to the tuning unit. Then the tuning unit plugged into the mic and the headunit.

I just ran the Sound Manager and when it told me to place the mic somewhere and I did then it said to click Measure and I did. The software and speakers did the rest.

thats very strange...i've never had that problem with the sound manager...dam thats got me stumped...maybe the mic is bad. Did you buy the unit used or new? and also do you have ANY other mic to at least try?

Which curve did you select? It should give you 3 options after running the mic. I have both of these units
I selected Reference, then saved to Slot 1. Then I selected Reference with Mid-range comp and saved to Slot 2. Then I instantly turned the deck on and the MultEQ was enabled.

nono lol my bad...the stereo system. did you make sure it was hooked up exactly as the manual shows?
haha, yeah. It's not hard to plug a few things in, but I read the manual a couple times anyway just for safety.

That's really strange, mine sounded so much better after imprint. Did you select the drivers seat as the target or whatever its called right away in the beginning? Also maybe try less positions with the mic. I know it sounds weird but I've heard you can get a good reading with about 2 or 3 readings. Maybe just mic the front seats that way it will focus the sound stage up there?? just a thought...
