Black-yellow and green long wire to be connected together. Parking brake bypass for the Alpine radio/Stereo. Or just by the bypass wiring harness for the Alpine double din. The problem with doing a bypass for Alpine, you need to turn on the car ignition first. Then do the bypass. Search for that video. Follow that video as best you can. How to do a parking brake bypass for Alpine stereo?

Yeah, a lot of research last night/this morning. The whole safety thing about the parking brake is ridiculous. This went in a 65 Mustang as a removable unit entirely for shows so no, I did not cut the dash. It's a manual parking brake...like that's going to help here. So ordered a bypass and will have to wait a week or so. But as puppycat said, it's like an entire section of the manual is missing. My eyes couldn't read the small print on a dimmed out touch screen selection, which was why I just couldn't understand that there were no settings.

I actually had an ILX-507 in my car, swapped it recently for something with a digital signal output. It's a good unit. You can adjust the button press beep volume in settings, which you seem to have fixed. One of the first things I did was set it to 0.

I agree the parking brake thing is BS. It's just a thing headunits made in the last decade do. My last car was a 2007 Honda Odyssey. When I was installing the headunit (an ilx-407 lol), I actually hooked up the parking brake wire. It was news to me but I said whatever, follow the directions. Tested with a voltmeter, it did become live when the parking brake was applied. Then I thought my headunit was broken, because it didn't let me change settings or bluetooth devices because it thought I wasn't parked. I then did the trick that worked back in the day, connected the parking brake wire to + so it was always on. Didn't work, looked it up and saw new headunits check for the lead turning on/off. So yeah, bought a parking brake bypass which just toggles the wire on/off to trick the thing.
