Hello Everyone!
I need some help with an Alpine HU, and was pointed to this forum as being a great resource. I used to have an Alpine CDA-7875 in my Mark VIII before I sold it ( //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ) and I loved that deck. It was rock solid, never skipped, looked AWESOME, and put out the best sound.
Now, I will be looking for a new car, which will probably be some type of 5.0, and I would like to get another Alpine deck. The one thing I did not like about the 7875 was the brightness of the deck, even dimmed, so I am looking for a HU with a blackout feature, and I am seriously looking at an Alpine CDA-9833. Now, the varied specs I have aren't consistent, does this HU have a blackout display? And how does that work? Does it just black out the LCD or the buttons as well?
With my old Alpine deck, I built a head unit "cover" box out of thin plastic to pop over the display and black it out a night. But, everytime I wanted to change the song or volume, I would have to take it off, which was a pain. If the 9833 doesn't have a blackout display, can anyone suggest a mid price ($350) Alpine deck that does? I want the buttons to be blue, and I do not want that black and white dot matrix display on the new HUs, and I also want a 60x4 v-drive.
Thanks for the help! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
