alpine help

[1967impala 10+ year member]

I just got Two Alpine type r's hooked up to a 1000 watt kenwood and it does not pound that hard. I got two infinity 1242 and i think they pound harder. i think somthing is wrong because my friend has the same amp as me and He got 2 10s type rs the newer model and his pound way louder. what should i do . also i dont have the amp turned all the way up becuse the speakers sound weird like its making a farting noise please help

if u got the older type rs i believe the newer ones will out preform them so u can buy the new type rs if u want

also is the box sealed, or ported n if ported possibly post the Hz its tuned to like 32Hz or sumptin

I figured out why it sounded bad the person who hooked them up only hooked up one voice coil .
