JL 250/1 enough power to run...?

a single 10" type R in a .625 sealed box? Right now I have a 10w3v2 D4 thats in there but it took a dump on me. It sounded great when it was in good shape so will the single type R work just as good for me or is there some other subs that would make a better replacement?

Yeah if you have the 250/1 and you dont want to buy a new amp it will work and sound ok. Only if your satisfied with the ouput of your setup id think youd want a louder setup the next time around. Also consider a 12" sub they are a better value.

My setup always sounded good to me and had more than enough bass which Is better than not having enough. I just dont want to lose any bass by swithing to a different sub. Nobody in my town carries the 10w3v2 D4 or I would just replace it with that so Im just a bit worried about choosing a new sub for this setup.

I cant say for sure that the R will be better, but when i IM'ed a member that had switched from 12w3's to the 12 type R he said it was much better....i would think the w3's are fairly efficent but the R's must be just as.

In my opinion you dont have near the power for a type R. I know someone is going to chime in and say "Everyone doesnt need 1k watts to get a type R loud" but 250 is really not enough...Hell Alpine says RMS is 600 and you wont even be giving half of that...With that kinda power I would look into this driver.

The 250/1 will push it I mean it wont maul it, but it will do the job that 250 watts at 11 volts so give it a little more than that I would say around 400.

i work at an auth dealer i'll give that 500/1 750 all day we put 12 15"s on it the subs are 150 rms a piece.

the 250 is a little weak for what you intend on using it for.
