Alpine avi-w200

At the moment i'm running an alpine 9815(not sure if thats the rite number) with a 4 channel and 2 channel alpine amps and type R speakers with 2 rockford 10" subs.

I recently found a deal on a w200 and was thinking about stepping up to that so i could watch movies or at least use dvd mp3s. I was a little concerned about the lack of a built in equalizer tho. Then i found that a lot of guys run this deck with a H701. I am by no means into competition or anything but this seems like a pretty expensive tool just to get the best sound. Is it really necessary for your average system or is there a cheaper, more basic model that would work for me?

That's a **** good question, I'm wondering the same thing. Does anyone know if there's any other DVD units with better tuning abilities around $600? Don't mean to threadjack.

The H701 is the only car audio product I've ever seen that you can buy new for $335 on ebay, and still see people selling used and abused for $320.

I wish there was a cheaper alternative, but for what you're looking for its probably well worth the price.

At least you wont lose any money if you decide you dont need it.
