Alpine 9833/9835 Face

I bought an Alpine 9833 a few months ago. I couldnt afford the 9835 at the time. The users manual covers both units and from what ive heard from car auido dealers, the only main difference between the two is the display. My question is if i bought the face for the 9835 on ebay would it work with the the 9833 just minus a few features. The decks are 98% identical and i would think the inputs from the deck to the face should be the same. Has anyone ever tried this, im not really looking for theory and am almost willing to spend the 60 bucks to be the pioneer.

I just like the display on the 9835 a lot better.....

9835 has DC/DC audio converter, and a couple other things the 9833 does not have. I don't believe it's just the face.
