Ive worked in the club section of Tampa, FL for a number of years.. everything from lighting and sound to bar management. After a lotta live concerts and shows and getting robbed once at gunpoint i started carrying TO and FROM the clubs which is legal in FL without a CWP as you are on your way to or from "work" and your vehicle. I also purchased a Level IIA kevlar vest i wear under my suit when we have the "ghetto nights"..

Im coming home Saturday night, we're talking almost 4:30 am on a saturday night after one of the busy "Reggaeton Nights" and I'm tired, not paying attention and I got tailed home. Anyone watching me sees that I drive a clean SUV, wear a suit and tie, have a decent system and park in a private lot behind the club. It doesn't take a genius to follow me home, wait for me to go to sleep and jack my shit.

I'm pulling into my neighborhood and realize the SAME car with one fog light out has been like 1/8th mile back the whole way from I-4 through the interchange and to my neighborhood. I know that no one else is coming back to my block at that time of night.. I pull slowly through the street and park in my garage/carport deal and make an obviously slow effort at getting my briefcase outta my backseat and going inside. We have 8 live cameras at my place.. check it at http://www.party813.com and click WEBCAST at the top..

ANYWAYS.. I sit in my living room, we have a "Street" camera that at night only sees headlights and reflectors in the dark. Im watching this SAME car pull up slowly with just fogs and parking lights on.. and eventually gets to my lil parking area on my street and kills em. They sit there for like 20 min.. So I guess they were either waiting to see if I was in for the night, or maybe just working up the balls to come over. I go upstairs, called my dad and asked what I should do (local lawyer here in Tampa and in good with local PD) and he says that I should wait it out.. don't start anything or go out there unless I see them getting outt the car and coming onto the property.. He tells me that if I decide to go outside and start something that he will be there in 60 seconds..

So.. another 10 minutes goes by, I'm wathcing the car sitting there and no movement outside and I feel froggy. I shut off the downstairs lights.. go upstairs.. turn on the bathroom/bedroom lights.. wait a minute and turned them all off. I hurry back downstairs and keep watching the monitor for the cams.. A few minutes goes by and I see a door open so I called my pops and told him what was going down.. and he tells me to wait a minute and he will be there.. Before I can hang up I see something light colored (hat?) walk from the passenger side towards across the street from me and sit in my neighbors carport. The drivers side opens and someone walks towards my garage and stops about 10 feet from my car.. looking around.

I walked out my back door, a few houses down and around to the back of the houses across the street from my garage.. As im sneaking around towards the side of the house with the guy hiding in the carport, remember.. I'm still wearing my vest and carrying 16+1 in the hole of +P Hollowpoint 9mm. I see the guy in the garage looking out for his buddy and i don't see anything in his hands.. As I'm walking up behind him, the guy in the street is looking through my windshield at my 2 way alarm antenna and trying to whisper something to his friend still in the car. I hear a car hit the speed bump about 20 feet before my street and knowing it's either my dad or the cops I LOL at the guy tries the door handle, which automatically turns on my interior light and sets off the 1st stage of the 2 way alarm..

BEEP BEEP BEEP goes off in my pocket as I remember that I still have my keys on me. The guy in the garage turns around right away and sees me 10 feet behind him, in black suit and pants with my Sigma already drawn on him and puts his hands up right away.. Doesn't say a word. The car hitting the speed bump turns out to be my dad who whips around the corner to my parking lot and lights up the dude in the garage and his car in the road. As he turned the corner, he lit up me and the guy with his hands up.

Dad jumps outta his truck half ***** with his .38 in hand and a cell phone in his ear screaming that "the guy is in the garage and keeps digging in his pocket.. I gotta go"... and hangs up.

Before I can really think of what to do, I hear the sound of V-8 Crown Vics barrelling over sets of speed bumps and I see the headlights on the corner house. After an all around "PUT YOUR WEAPONS ON THE GROUND" and a WHOLE lot of explaining, the police reason that since the condo property is entirely owned by residents and is private, that I cannot be charged with any brandishing of firearms outside my residence since it was to prevent commission of a crime, and the fact that one guy had priors and the driver had a suspended license. With the video of the guy in the garage messing with my truck burned safely to a DVD-R, and my lovely Stand Your Ground act here in FL, neither I or my father were charged or questioned beyond explaining why we hadn't called the police first.

I'm either an idiot.. or an idiot. I know.. but I just thought that it was a great story to tell.. Funny thing is.. I have NO bump right now, and my DVD deck is actually on my countertop inside while I replace the RCA jack with a broken tip in it. My amps are bolted with Star bits and a combo of sizes to a piece of 1/2 inch ABS plastic that is under the cloth seat back. I don't even know if they brought the kinda tools to remove 2 shitty amps and MAYBE my 10.4 inch LCD for the backseat.

not gonna post vids until I find out if the vid i copied for them will be used to prosecute them at all..

if NOT.. then I'll post the relevant vids and maybe MSPaint some smiley faces..

Bedtime now. work in 6 hours.

yeah really, you are much better than most at telling stories on ca.com. You actually use periods and commas in the right places.

Nice story BTW, and a great right-up.

+1 for the no-go theft and +10,000 for the law in Florida!
