ALL PIONEER P860 or 8600 OWNERS W/ GROUND PROBLEM, INSIDE PLEASE!!!

one last question, i dont want to cut open my RCA wires to tap into the wires, is there another way that i can connect the new grounded wire to the RCA? i dont want to solder it either, can i just put it between the male and female ends and jam it in there when i connect them or is there another way?

That is what I did. There's no reason to tap into the RCA's themselves. Just wrap a wire around all the RCA female plugs in the back of the head unit, and connect it to a screw anywhere on the metal chassis of the head unit. Then plug the RCA's in and you have a secure ground.

should i gruond both the front and sub RCA's or just the fronts?

Well... since you only get alternator whine out of the fronts, you probobally only have to do those. But why not get them all while you have your head unit out?

Also, you don't need a very thick wire for this. Take a remote wire, strip it completely, take off half the strands, and proceed. That way you can still plug the RCA's in with ease.

Hope that fixes it. From what i've seen on this forum, it should.

THANK YOU to all who helped me fix my problem, my 860 NEVER sounded better, i have ZERO noisse, NONE!!! i cant tell you how happy i am that i can now use this unit again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif 2 second fix and bam, shes back in the game

Which of the ideas, that were mentioned, did you use? Just wondering in case its needed whenever I have time to get all my shit in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

pepsifiend69....... simply take some extra remote turn-on wire, maybe a foot long at the most, ground one end to the screw under the antenna input on the far left of the headunit (its the only screw that far over) and then the other end, put it in between the male and female end of the negative RCA of the front and rear inputs (i just wedged it in there, witha little force the wire just goes in with no taping, soldering, etc.) viola!! ZERO noise! it literally took me more time to strip the wire than the actual fix, couldnt be happier

so you did what sss recommened then and it took care of it, correct?
corect, well SSS and pepsifiend both suggested the same thing, so its one in the same //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hey, I just found this thread, the last two weeks I got my amp back from KB audio from repairing it (blew some channels apparently) and it blew like 4 hours after I got it back and reinstalled it. I have a 8600 and have the same prob, Sergey from KB told me that some pioneer's RCA's are bad a/b blowing amps and told me to check my RCA sleeves against my deck chassis, I checked and the RCA's sleeves were grounding to the chassis, he said they shouldnt. What is right here? If mine are grounding to the chassis and blowing my amp and you guys ground yours and fix the problem, WTF?! I took the deck out and put in an old 3300 and havent had any problems yet, nothin else has changed. Any ideas?

ps-sorry a/b the essay,lmao

just try doin exactly what was listed above and see if that does it, i duno what else to tell ya man sorry

i had the problem with a previous 860, took it to a local authorized repair place, cost like 80 bucks total adn teh problem was totally solved, the original problem as i understood it was that the fuse on teh rca's ground came blown from teh factory, so it seems like a permanant fix at least for me
