I need components that are not very deep. 2" mounting depth is what I got from google when I searched for my car. Which is a 96 honda accord ex sedan btw.

i'm going to have $86 store credit from sonicelectronix, so it'd be sweet to get them from there. Price limit is $180

For the rear, I'm runnin 6X9 pioneers, but they distort pretty bad at louder volumes. Probably wasn't good to hook them up to mono amp to see what would happen. Basically I want some bassy 6X9s. Same price

I alreayd have an amp. 75X4RMS @ 4 ohms... 90WX4RMS @ 2

I've been looking at Image Dynamics, Cadence, and Focal. I've never heard these in person before. But they have good reviews.

try some Phoenix Gold RSD 6.5's
i'm just asking, not trying to start an arguement! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But, why does everyone recommend the PG's when the CDT CL's are rated at double the power and are only $99? And what about the Alpine SPS-600C comps? I give them 180 rms per channel all day and they are still going strong. Just want to know why, sorry

whats the depth of the ctx65cs?
2.75 I bought universal spacers and they didn't fit the stock holes. I could have ran the phoenix golds. I just don't have anyone to make spacers/rings and i dont have the tools too

You may want to open your options up by either going with 5.25" components up front OR look into doing some kick panels or Q-forms to go bigger and deeper.

Also, another issue when looking into the Euro designs like CDT and Focal is they are generally measured on the metric system, and while they are 6.5", they are H U G E! I purchased some 6.5" CDTs that did not fit behind my stock Civic grills and the ebay merchant was pissed at me for leaving them neutral feedback. Yes it was my fault for not checking prior to ordering, but there was nothing I found in doing research on the CDTs that indicated that they were slightly larger than every other friggin 6.5 component speaker on the market.

Before those CDTs went on closeout, the PGs were the best comp you could get for under $100.

The TW-25 tweeter that comes with those woofersetc components sounds better to me than the Alpine Type R tweeter, so that is what I used out of my non-fitting CDT components. This is my front stage setup: Type R 6.5s, CDT Satenet-400 crossover, and CDT TW-25 tweeters. Hopefully I can finish up deadening my passenger door and call it a wrap tomorrow!

people still say the CDT CL's are garbage for some reason, I don't get it

Uneven frequency response from the CDT 6.5 is the major complaint that I have heard, and have myself. The midrange plays louder than the mid-bass frequencies whereas on the Alpine Type Rs they seem to play a little deeper and have a smoother midrange response. The Type S speakers I just pulled from there are extremely dirty compared to the CDTs or the Type Rs.
