Alero HU Help

so im tryn to install a HU on my buddies alero, a pioneer deck. Fairly basic. Anyway his stock harness does not have an ACC switch therefore it does not turn on when you turn the ignition on. However it will turn on if you hardwire it directly into the 12v constant... which will then remain on until u manually turn it off. I also tried to wire it to the remote as well... no results. Any idea what to do?
