ALARM SUCCESS STORY AND OTHER THEFT PREVENTION TIPS from a Alarm Tech. MUST READ!

I know they also say dark tint helps because they can't steal what they can't see. Would it be worth a possible ticket for the small amount of security gain?

Tint is 2 way.

(1) It can make some more interested to see what's inside.

(2) It can hide what's inside plus keep your glass together if it is broke, so you don't have a mess of a million pieces of little glass particles all inside.

Personally, I would recommend tint because the positives out weight the negative. Tint also is on most custom rides and reduces sun glare, keeps car cooler and just looks good! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I would recommend getting a legal shade tint (check your states law). Most are at least 35%.

Back-up batt helps the alarm to keep powered up if main batt is disabled.

Back-up siren will keep sounding if other sirens are disabled and is made durable with key to shut off.

You can have one without the other, but I would recommend both for extra security! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

* Make sure to hide all these well!

great information, an alarm is definitely a good investment, I got a crime stopper pager alarm and am very glad I got it, especially after reading this, will look into some more alarm accessories

i also wondering does anyone know how to disable the trunk release lever

My Grand Am has a little lever on the trunk lid itself and if you slide it one way the lever in the cab will not release it and the only way in is a key.

On my hatchback, I just pulled the cable free from the latch on the floorboard inside. That way I can reinstall it back if I choose to.

If there is a lever latch for the trunk inside (front or back), you can usually do the same. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

RFCV, or should i call you RFvega, from an experienced alarm tech as yourself, you would think you would be awesome at helping all these people with their alarm problems, however its the same here as it is over at termpro, all show and no go. but heck, your used to that from the rf forums too, where meade called you out on your bs self acclaimed spl score, and you finally get on a termlab and cant break a 145.

now you know why we all at TP think your an azzhat. self-proclaimed with nothing to back it up. you see murph or jbondox or anyone else bragging how good they are on carsound or tp or here? No, because they know how good they are, their work speak for themselves. They dont claim to be some alarm tech, and brag themselves up, they just answer people's questions correctly and honestly and give their insight on how things should be done correctly. Thats something you havent been able to do since day one, and still continue to ignore. Want an example? Its in this thread, page one, about extra sirens. You failed to mention that most brains will need to be relayed after 3 sirens, in order to protect the brain from passing too much current and frying itself. While its not a must for under 3 sirens, its going to be to your advantage to use a relay so that it can pass current efficiently and effectively, more so than an alarm brain. It will also help reduce the stress on your alarm brain in the long term.

Now you can go back to hyping up how great of an "alarm tech" you really are, and continue to ignore the people that truly need help with their alarms in this section. and dont forget to keep explaining to people how important "mid-stage" is, ahahha. effin newb.
