Alan Dante does 144 dbs...

I bet some viechles could greatly increase theyr interior efficency by tearing out all the soft parts of the car / seats / headliner / carpets / dash,.....

and using fiberglassing over top of them to make a smooth hard surface to reflect / re direct sound and create a focal point to where the viechle gets metered at

so the most spl is directed there vs any other single part of the car.

if I could guess - id say a standard car doing 155 with all its interior

could gain 10db easily buy doing above said things. heck, maby gain up to 25 db or more

what do yall think ?

I think you don't understand how big of a gain 10db is

let alone 25...'or more'

it will help though, anything malleable is usually just hurting your score

i don't find this feesible, maybe a few db's, i would say that 3-4 would be pushing it.

^^^beat me to it

According to theory:
double power = 3db gain

10x power = 10db gain

as has been stated several times in this thread alone, this doesn't actually work in the real world and you will always gain less than the estimated amount unless there are other factors affecting it (which there always are) and you could realistically gain 1db, or gain 4 or 5, or none, only trying it and measuring will tell.
thanks. i had an idea about that theory but the way i heard it was ported box + 3 dbs and when you get so loud you have to double the subs or double the power for 3 dbs. i'm sure i said that all wrong like i said i'm a nooob. but the part that gets me is a 140 with 1 watt!

you were doing good til you started guessing numbers.

If you look inside an extreme vehicle you will see why it is feesible to do a 141 db with 1 watt. The problem is most people equate extreme scores to what they are doing in a stock drivable vehicle. When in reality it is closer in nature to what one might score if you metered your score inside the enclosure.

and could someone sell me some of that merlins special magic powder for my pyle?
Sorry, you have to have a level 6 dB drag license to even look at this stuff! It is some serious shit.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif

amen

Im sorry, I like to actually drive my vehicle every day and still put up good numbers at 32 hz.

In compairison, I would NOT like to drive a concrete tomb that gets 1 MPG around with one 18" in it.

maybe thats just me though.

Yes, these vehicles are beyond daily driving.... easily adding thousands of pounds worth of wood, steel, concrete ect....

Dash is gone, all the seats.... floor has been changed out with sheets of flat metal... back doors are welded shut....

ect.....
