Al n' Eds at LA Auto Show

Went with a couple buddies of mine to the LA Auto show and they had an Al n Ed's booth outside. They had big *** RF amp in an Escalade, just like Meade has, along with a wall of 4 - 6 RF subs, didn't get quite that great of a glimpse. Had some good body flex, but the guy was saying it's the loudest we've ever heard. It was quite funny because obviously the guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

I never sat in it, would have been a waste of time, but it was quite funny when my friend asked what front stage they were using and he said "which one?" and my friend asked again, what do you mean, I wanna know what front stage you are running? And the guy said well just get in and listen, it's loud. Quite funny that the guy thinks just because they have a wall and a huge, expensive amp that it's the loudest thing.

On another note, the show was kinda weak. Only saw one concept car and nothing too great about the show.

Yep, that's the one. I've been in there shop a couple times. I went to ask about the Alpine OEM integration and they didn't know much about it. The other time I went, there really wasn't much convo, but I'd prefer to go to another place if I were to get an install done.

What's funny is that with all those subs, I don't see all that much air moving. I know you can't see air, but if you look at the guys who are sitting in it, take a look at their shirts, you would assume for a wall with 8 15's to have an effect on the shirts. Maybe for the video they didn't turn it up, but it wasn't anything impressive IMO. I've seen so many builds here that would put it to shame.

not everyone calls it a front stage
people use diffrant terms for diffrant things
Uhhh, so what else is it called? And when asked what they were using for their front stage and you get a response such as "which one" you can tell the level of car audio knowledge they have is minimal. Tell me how you have more than one front stage.

could be called just mids or highs

also, that may have just been the spokesman for al and eds not the person(s) who actually installed it

But what do those mids and highs combined create? Any other names for it?

If they are the spokesperson, they should at least know something about the vehicle other than how many subs it has, what size, the amp, and what brand. If you are a company and trying to gain customers, you should have someone knowledgeable enough to be able to answer questions. If I go to a shop and they don't know how to do something, I'm going elsewhere. I'd rather go to someone who knows what they are doing. Rather than saying" awww c'mon dawg just hop in and listen" over and over, he would have been better off saying he doesnt know what a front stage is, hes not the installer, whatever.

I'm sure we could have asked what it was tuned to and he'd have absolutely no idea.

i painted a lot of the displays so the show couldn't have been that lame //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
What displays?

By lame I meant, hardly any concept cars, not too much action, and the downstairs where they had the fancied out rides, well, there weren't too many, and it was also like a massive swap meet with all kinds of random crap.

i did a lot of the work on the big blue ford wall, and the black and white lincoln and mercury displays.

i primed about half of the 600 blue panels for the ford wall, and painted about 3/4 of them.

and various displays here and there. i did a few things for the bentley, worked on the porsche wheel stands... shit like that.
