akai flat screen

it's a 42" akai flat screen projection. lately, it has a "not so stellar" picture. used to be quite good. looks staticy, like with the old school rabbit ears when reception wasn't all that great. looks this way even with the dvd player and the playstation, so it's not the wiring. it's not severe, but enough to annoy. anyone know what the problem could be, or how to remedy?

Well it is probably something in the decoding or processing inside of the TV. This could be caused by several factors; loose solder joints, bad connections, or the most likely power supply issues...

your story morals only work with the rich. in the real world, people buy what they can afford. you think i would have bought an 800$ television if i could afford a 3000$ flat panel? anytime you feel like coming down to the real world for a minute, pay us a visit. it's quite nice down here sometimes.

ya its cool having expensive stuff but some people just arent into it that much so they dont see a point of spending so much.

Myself I love Ht and I am still buying the cheapest brand 32-37" tv I can find... Its only for the livingroom when people are over so f-it, I rather put the extra money I save towards a good projector //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif maybe a sony pearl or a jvc rs1

If you can't afford it, then you do have to buy something cheaper.

BUT, you have to figure "why is it cheaper?". The answer is in more than the visual quality of the parts, TV's in this price range are seriously made to be 'throw away'. The idea is that if you don't spend the money on a higher quality one they will get your money when you have to buy a new one. How long have you had it? Just out of curiosity...

You can get a TV from the same place I got mine with a 5 year warranty for about $1800...

That means it only costs you (if it only lasts that 5 years) $360 a year...

A cheaper set you might have to buy a new TV every 1.5->2 years and it costs $800.

I actually had a friend and his girl over //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and the tv is leaving next year and im replacing it with a projector and a cheap 32-37" tv....

Poped in war of the worlds for them and had it full tilt and they said "GOD DAM THE FREAKING FLOOR SOUNDS LIKE ITS GONNA RIP OUT" afterwards I turned off the 15" and just had the def tech subs running and showed them a preview of transformers and I got "GOD DAM THOSE LITTLE SPEAKERS ARE ALSO LOUD!"

there is a big problem with any product that you only get 2-5 years out of.... specially an hdtv... no matter what brand they shouldnt go to shit in a year or two... obviously some brands are better then others but unless its abused no tv should only last for 2 years... those numbers are rather lopsided....
