Airspace question for DC XL's

I know DC says 10" should get 1³ ft and 12" should get 1.5³ ft ported, but is that still the ideal space? Anyone have better results with them by going a little higher? If my numbers are correct I can have approximately 4³ ft max the subs can actually see after all displacements

Going bigger is going to affect the system in two main ways. It'll make the box more efficient, and lower the mechanical power handling of the subs. So basically, try and base it off what kind of power you'll be throwing at them. With a 3000D you can probably go a little bigger and still be able to use all of that power. ~1.75-2ft^3 each shouldn't be a problem.

Especially considering how dynamic music is, you won't hardly be seeing 3kw hardly ever, and only for short periods of time.
