Air space affected by egg crate foam?

Was going to line my box with some egg crate foam (probably a mattress pad from walmart) Not sure where else to buy some.

Will this stuff make the box much smaller?

Good question lol. I read that it can improve sound quality, and uhhh, break up sound waves in the box. what do ya think?

egg crate foam won't do anything. 2" open cell foam can absorb above 500 Hz, but useless for subs.

best thing for subs is 50% fiberglass fill (or the denim acoustical batt insulation)
