2nd box build and SA-12 Question

Alright, so I wanted to see how much thump I could get out of a single SA-12 D4.

This box 1.7 cubes at 32Hz, should be a good SPL box, no? Only my second box so I am not %100 familiar with the numbers and what makes a good SPL vs SQ. ect ect.

I made it in 1 hour, 5 minutes. Start to finish. (still need to put screws in it, letting clamps do their thing right now. So excuse the sloppy Adhesive along the outside.

When I figure out what box makes the best SPL for me, I'll do the "clean box" with 45s, smooth sanding, carpet, ect ect.... This is just a quick trial box.

P.s My SA-12 D4 will take 1200RMS , right? I've seen countless people say they push "1200+ RMS daily" with the SA-12s. Inform me if I'm wrong, don't want to blow up my babies. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suave.gif.858fc102f7646e678ee8af7e1fbc41d1.gif

Edit: my port looks like its leaning, it's not.. Straight up and down, 3.25 inch all the way down.

I feed my sa's over 1200 daily and I've pushed them hard for an hour straight on several occasions and never got stinky or anything.

I have 15's though

Darn, 3 people all told me littleish box, and bigger port.

What would you recommend I push cube per 12 then and tuned to? I have a bigger box for my dual 12s at 4.2 cubes and 35Hz, will that perform better for SPL? Only issue is my amp is a candy *** right now and pushes 700rms [each]to the SA-12s, obviously not kicking. So I wanted to see if I could push a single 12 real hard and see what it'll do. I'll try it after work and see how it compares to the dual 12s underpowered.

My single 12 did a 137.7 in 2.25 cubes @34htz on 1000w then my 2 sa 12 in 4 cubes @32 did 146 on 2k...but it murdered the lows

my other dual 12 box is 35Hz, is that more like it? Or are we talking 40s..?

high 40s but there isnt a "tune" for spl. you just add/take away port as it gains on the meter find the sweet spot and leave it. if i was to guess somewhere to start. 48-53 small box with alot of port area. small i mean. 1.3 per

But if ur gona listen to it daily 1.3 @ 50 will sound like as$ ...id build a daily box too or one with interchanging ports

I built a "daily box" at 1.8 cubes at 33Hz, sounds decent. I built that thinking it was a SPL box, LOLOLOL. Time to build a SPL box then.

Me as well,clean bass all day. But at the same time, I am trying to get my SPL for a local show in half year.
