Aftermarket stereo not an option, what are my option

Im installing subs in the next week. I was going to buy an aftermarket but apparently the chevrolet my link is an extreme b1tch to replace, and with the dash kits it still leaves the stock radio in there? Its stupid but apparently the radio is like a huge piece of the cars security system and all that shiz. So I figured id still want a way to control the sound from the front with something like the ZED Audio RA or whatever yall suggest Im just really not sure what all I need to install my subs with the stock radio and my front stage is following about a week later so yeah, any help from you vets out there would be great.

It's not that bad just pretty expensive for the correct parts including steering wheel control adapter.

steering wheel control, on star control, I learned on the cruze forum that it disables your cars security system, then if I replace it I have all these useless buttons sitting below it, because the buttons and ac controls are built in together. Its not impossible its just not practical. If I can make it sound the same or close with a few components from audiocontrol then that would be alot easier, and ALOT cheaper.

Audiocontrol has fallen behind in technology and features, which makes that brand a poor choice for this job. OEM integration with a factory premium sound system results in a more labor intensive job in most cases, and your best bang for your buck is a DSP(again, not an Audiocontrol product).
