after market remote start questions

I have a 96 chevy s10 and was wanting to get put a remote start and alarm combo on my truck will any market system work with my truck or how do I no if its compadiable or not ..its a plain Jane s10 no power locks or windows

I would just go to reputable shop and ask them.

Just about any on the market will work. I don't recall if the '96 required a bypass but I don't the base model does.

Honestly if you're looking to do it yourself, good luck. Installing on that level without help or prior knowledge. I would buy the unit and take it wherever you'd like to have it installed it'll run 100-150 installed (~3 hrs normal time depending on car). With a '96 you shouldn't need a bypass unit.

Pretty straight forward actually.

S10forum.com would be the best place to get some info as it has been a while since I worked on an older S10.
