wiring this sub together, which set up is right?

Trying to send 300 watts @2ohms from the sub channel of an infinity kappa five amp to a single kicker 10CVR124 (dvc, 4ohm)

the factory kicker manual states to connect the pos and neg to the first voice coil, and then wire it in parallel.

someone else recommended i should run the original positive to the first coil, negative to second coil.



or



as it stands right now, i have it wired as in the second image, and the subwoofer seems to be receiving barely any power.

if its a D4 coil you want to wire both + leads together and both - leads together. then ur amp sees a 2 ohm load.

Haha! OP as stated by Mat3833 wire the negatives together on the sub then out to the negative on the amp and the run both positives together and and then out to the Positive on the amp. This will give you a final 2 ohm load at the amp. It's called wiring in series.

I guess my main question, the original pos and neg that come out of the amp, should i hook them up to the pos and neg of voice coil #1 . Or send pos to pos of voice coil #1 , and send neg to neg of voice coil #2 .

yes wiring in series would give you a 8 ohm load and would only require 1 jumper wire...just make sure u have it wired like the pic and thats correct

lol. i originally had a subwoofer that was only getting 200 watts, and it bumped a lot more than this set up, so I am just slightly miffed.

after checking the amp and changing the levels around, i can officially say the amp has plenty of juice for a sub. the difference is night and day
