What are some good affordable amps, wanting a 1500-2500 watt amp but they are all so pricey, the few cheap ones out there scare me because I think they either don't do what they say(ie.BOSS lol) or are very unreliable.(SSL) Any good amps in that range that don't break the bank?

Price range?

The BEST cheaper amps that do what they say and do it clean are Crescendo and AQ/SQ. There are others from even smaller compainies but they are not easy to come by. IF YOU GO REALLY CHEAP it will cost just as much in electrical to get them to make the power(if they even will) the better amps will make with less costly electrical. Most of the cheap amps wont do rated till 16v. Do it right the first time or you will be replacing amps costing even more in the end. if you cant save to do it right this is not the hobby for you. if thats the case just get some Type Rs and a solid MRP amp. Thats more then enough for 99% of the population, a good box will make them a loud, and reliable set up.

The Precision Power BK1800.1D will do what you need without costing an arm and a leg.
It's **** **** looking too!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Thank you, I will, you make a good point. I'm not a big fan of Alpine, so I'll avoid that one. Haha.

I'm also curious as to whether or not the new stuff from Hifonics is as good as their last BRZ line. Some people preach by them while others hate them, so try picking one up and tell me whatcha think. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm gonna be upgrading to about 2000 watts this summer, so I'll be watching the thread closely to see what you come up with. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hey lets not knock Alpine Type R's too much, honestly in my book they are one of the best bang for buck spl sub out there, not saying they're top notch by any means but they do the job you would expect from a 50$ sub everytime.

I'll add MB Quart amps are okie dokie for the price. They impressed me a bit for being a maxxsonic company.

Oh sorry if I came out as bashing, it's great for the money it truly is. But there are so many annoying people running those subs I tend to avoid them. Which I must say, is a dumb reason to not like them. It's not Alpines fault that "gangsters" always run them.

I had a hard time running JL gear cause of the annoying, dumba$$ fanboys but i'm glad I did and never looked back( not saying I would use any of their other stuff, minus a few 13 W7s if i had the room). I like showing people what their stuff can really do if set up right.

when you buy an inexpensive amp dont expect to get what the rms says, but price = watts per dollar these inexpensive amp still a good bang for the buck, audiopipe apsm 1500 $125 you should get at least 1k to 1200, bamf 5500 $229 you should get at least 2k to 2500, belva 5000 $299 you should get at least 2.5k or more

i dont call these affordable

crescendo b2000 =$479

AQ 2200 = $429
