Aeroport

Hey guys, I just read something about if a port is too big it could cause sub unloading?
Where did you read that, on faceberg?

You should probably listen to actual engineers and professionals who understand how these things work.

In fact too small port will tend to unload at high power (if you are trying to displace more air than the volume of the port) then the box behaves as a "leaky sealed box". For practical purposes, in a car you'll probably never hit the point where you have so much port area that it stops gaining efficiency.

That said there's other problems that may come up with the port not behaving as intended because you're crowding it somewhere so really depending how the box is laid out smaller may work better. In any event assuming you mean 5 cube box (net or gross), 80 square inches of port area is fine provided it's placed in a way it can function correctly.

IMO the bigger issue I see is that seems like an awful small box for a pair of 15s and I suspect you may be compromising somewhere to cram that much port in such a small box. I'd probably consider 8" round port on a 5 cube box because 10 will invariably be too close to something and likely won't perform as expected.

Only the yankees leave Florida when a hurricane comes.
idk man I might had to get outta the way of that big a*s thing., I worried it's gonna spin up 10 tornados on top of the rain, storm surge and wind, I'm older than most here I've watched a lot more news than ya'll over past 20yrs and I'm guessing it's gonna do close to 400 billion in damage like 20x more than ever before., I'm right down us1 from u man I think u should out run it..
Five? Five what? Five feet, five cubes after displacements, 5 cubes before, 5 little people dressed in clown suits running around at night kicking people in the nuts???? Details bro. So many calculators that you should be able to get down dang close. For example I have 3 sundown e12s in 7.3 tuned to 28 with 15 per port and things nasty from 25-45. Which by the way.. @BOOMINGRANDPA pm me a phone number to text pics I have a brand new e12 d2 v3 in box still just collecting dust. I'll cut ya a deal on it. Know u been looking at all kinds of 12s
Thats why I left that very vague comment because OPs comment wasn't detailed enough. It was a sarcastic response.

I will say I was just assuming he was talking about the 5 people dressed in clown suits.
@Popwarhomie you guys look like you'll still get it but I have been worried sick formmy home town area. Tampa usually lucks out and just gets bands but this looks different. And while flooding is not funny what so ever or damage or anything but would be kinda sick to rip through downtown Tampa and st Pete on my jestski with no traffic haulin arse. But for real bro prayers going out to everyone down there. I hope everyone is just over reacting and it's not bad but lookin like west Florida is gonna get beat. And way too soon but had to share this one. I got a sick since of humor I guess.....I'm not making light of the situation this just had me dying in my living room yesterday. Choo choo!!!!
