I remember when MD built their blazer. They had a clamshell w/ aeroports and it sucked. They filled in the ports and it hit hard.

You have to remember that a clamshell is actually a type of 4th order bandpass. Once you start porting those enclosures, it's basically going to act like a 6th order. Once you go there it is extremely tricky to get right.

hmmm.... what do u suggest? i mean i def want the 12's to be ported maybe design it like wills truck? instead of how frankies car is?

Now, in Potts case.....

He built a solid shell, fired the subs down and the aeroports back. That install was sick as all hell... 53's under 30hz w/ only 1 2500D and 2 typeR 12's.

Keep in mind, he tore it out and tried to duplicate it the following year only to fail.

i was thinking just like that but instead of the slots i would use aeros

I'm not saying don't do it, just don't plan on it working out of the box.... stuff like that is tricky.

4 15's and 2 zx2500.1's @ 2ohm

delvryboy u actually think i should try an REAL 4th order box? i just want the install to move TONSSSSSSSSSS of air. what do u suggest?

I'm not saying don't do it, just don't plan on it working out of the box.... stuff like that is tricky.

Nope, the boxes were slot ported at the bottom rear. I was going to rebuild w/ aero's but ended up with a regular wall. All 4 subs on the passenger side and a narrow drivers side port.

156@41 hz and an even nastier hair trick.

Then I tore that out and did 3 subs with a bottom port the week before finals = fail. 153@46hz:furious:

The first thing I did was 4 10's in that same shell the 15's are in except I used aeroports. The note was higher(49hz) but it was still pretty nasty. 155 w/ an opti 4000d.

I would try a regular sealed clamshell, 6 on the top, 6 on the bottom.

so what do u think i should do for what im going for? 4th order,ported like wills truck or something else. all i really want is for my truck to be impressive and pull mean hairtricks thats why im going with so much cone area and power.
