I would like to know the difference between the vents antthe areo ports. Im thinking about useing aero ports for my next box. But I dont know anything about them.

My setup i in the sig. My currnt box is 4.3 cubes per chamber tuned to 32hz.

My next box is going to have the ports firing up and the subs firing forward.

But should I use aero ports or vents. Im strictly SPL. Looking to break 150db

Aero ports normally will be louder on the meter.

The advantage in using a slot port over a aero port, is the ease of building/design. It allows you to aquire more port surface area. And acts as a semi brace.

Some say aero ports have less turbulance, others say oposite. So there is no definate answer as to which hass less port noise.

well look at his subs...they are 15's and that box makes them look like 10's

meaning there is a couple inches above and below them, so the box is likely 20-22 inches high, 48 ish wide, and 12 ish deep at the top, and 20 ish deep at the bottom.

I see a very high possibbility of 8.6 cubes.

it doesnt take much to get that size in a sealed box.

Here's my answer, try both. If you really want 150 db's, you're not likely to get it your first try. Try different firing positions, tunings, etc. More port area and higher tuning is a good start on a higher score.
