Just drew this up real quick..what do you guys think? Sub calculator says that a 9.25" long 2" Flared Port would be like 0.01 displacement and the sub is 0.05 displacement so the Gross box size is .8988 or w/e so basically 0.9 cubes gross.. so the box should be around the 0.8-0.83 NET tuned to around 33 hz for a True Bass Ultra 8 on about 500 watts.
Cant really get the box size down to the exact size to make it end up at .8, only to around 0.83 so the port tuning varies about a quarter of an inch, so im just going to meet it half way and it should be around 32-34 hz..either way thats around where I want to be.
Opinions? Loading pic Sub firing forward port up. Going in a ext cab truck so the sub is basically gonna be a few inches behind my shoulder between the 2 seats, should be a great spot to really hear it clearly.
Dimensions are: Width(10), Depth(10), Height(23) inches. 3/4 MDF all single layer..dont think double is really needed for an 8 that maybe weighs 10-12 lbs.
Note: Picture shows plain 2" round port, dont know how to make it look flared but you get the idea. Ports gonna be about 7 or so inches behind the sub..the depth of the sub is about 5 inches so there should be a solid 2" between the bottom of the magnet and the port.
