How do I tune with a aero port and what size would be needed? Looking to build a 0.8 cube NET box for a single 8" tuned to around 32-33 hz.

Its the same as a standard PVC pipe? The rounded edges do nothing for port?

Would a 3" Aeroport be enough port area for a 0.8 NET cube box or can I get away with maybe a 2" Aero Port.

I know a 4" PVC port would be about 12-13 sq inches of port area..I figure thats about what id need for 0.8 cubes.

If i used a 3" aeroport id need bout 20" and it only comes with 17" of tubing..but if I used 2" aero port it'd only need to be about 9". Would 2" be enough

no the flared edges typically make tuning a bit higher!

Yah i meant flared. How do I tune it for say like one of those Precision Flared Ports.

Can I use a 2" flared port for a .8 cube net box?

And I have WinISD already and only see Slot or Round port options..no flared

2" aero is fine.

Thanks, thats perfect. Now does anyone know how I calculate the tuning of a 2" flared port for a 0.8 net box down to 32-33 hz? I cant find a program anywheres..Dont see any options for flared in WinISD

http://www.carstereo.org has a nice one, I use it all the time. just remember that the flare does not count in the port's length

to get to this port calculator just search "port calculator" using google or yahoo, its usually the first thing that pops up

Hm dont see anything about aero or flared..I see carstereo.com not org and it just has round and square...Do i just use round and not count the flare?

I think it was added into WinISD Pro so download that and go for it.

Yah well when you calculate a 4" straight round port into a 0.8 cube box its something stupid like 35" long, using flared lets me greatly reduce that length by using a smaller port. Also how do I tell when not to count the flare? Would i just start at when the flared peice connects to the straight tube as in like Precision Ports?
