I used to think/feel just like you. But then I got fvcked. :dunno:
Kenny, In Feb I offered you a paid return label so I could inspect the driver. Had you sent it back I would have been able to determine the problem and send a new woofer or give you a refund. You refused. You then sold it to papermaker and claimed you were only out $80. I offered you a refund of that $80 and you refused that publicly as well.

John

the coil is perfectly fine, no rubbing etc.. the suspension is so so i have to cross it around 50 if i want some decent output below 50.. if you send me a recone with a 8.5 progressive and some shims and glue im more than positive i can align it and have it working instead of you spending an *** load of money.. a simple recone with shims/shims and some glue, ill be fine.. i don;t want to take you money.. im very happy you sent the sub via next day.. i just ain't going to wait 6 more weeks to get it back.. im telling you thats the spider is not linear, if you don't believe me take a driver in house play it close of xmax for 2 days and retest FS/Vas.. im really not looking forward to wasting any more time and or money to fix the problem.. honetly id highly suggest if you wnat to sell these woofers to car audio customers go with at least a 10" progressive other wise your going to have a non linear suspension from the very compliant outter courrogations.. im not here to kill your business or hurt your pocket book

I think you should send it back to him, it may allow him to get some info on what is going on here, but I also understand that you don't want to send it back, that is reasonable too, lol.

Certainly not in February. I have chatlogging enabled pretty much everywhere use a computer, and I just read thru every conversation I had with you in February - nothing about sending the driver back. Alot about what turned out to be a non-working RCA on my HU which was my original issue of not much output, and alot about you telling me I need an EQ everything, and that tuning higher would do nothing for output in the upper region (>50 Hz).

And you're **** right I refused your $80. If I hadn't, I'd somehow feel obligated, and would be fairly hypocritical, to continue to spread the truth about your drivers and your business practices. $80 is shit, I was willing to IMMEDIATELY drop another $300+ with you no questions asked if you would have confirmed with me that TD18H+ would cure my high-frequency output problems. You can take your $80 of 'hush money' and shove it. You've pissed off ALOT of people and absolutely refuse to even apologize for it. You'd rather just tell us we're wrong.

See, complete dickishness. Since you refused the $80, you no longer have any right to bring it up in conversation of how you lost $80, since that loss is now your fault.

I'm just going to go ahead and add you to the ignore list, that'll make this significantly easier //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I never believed you were here to kill my business. I'm also not concerned with my pocket book. If there is a legitimate problem then I'll do what I can to fix it. If at all possible I'd like to see that particular driver. I have many people who have played AV woofers to excursion limits for months without the failure you claim. We've used that same spider in drivers for the US Army Research lab about 3 yrs ago. It was designed as 100% nomex to their specifications because nomex could withstand the extreme temperatures in the desert in Iraq and is virtually indestructible. I'm not saying you are wrong in what you claim, just that I have yet to see it, which is why I'd like to evaluate that driver. I'm very interested to see what exactly happened and where the spider is worn. I played that driver with a 10hz tone free air continually prior to sending it to you. That is why I called you and asked to keep it for an extra day and then overnight it to you.

It would be very helpful if I don't have to try to recreate what happened in your woofer with another one. I realize you don't want to wait for another driver from me. That is why I offered to pay for return shipping and refund the money. You can go buy any driver you wish then right away. I'll send a cashier's check with a UPS return label.

John

guess I dont see where the issue is. John offered to refund, so he could get the driver back to inspect it. I promise you that would not be the case with all most any other company, they would simply say oh well or send it in for warranty and we will get back to you... and we all know how that goes.

From what I have seen John has tried dealing this with you. $80 was not hush money it was to refund you for your driver. Now if he put an extra $100 on top of it to be hush then id say you have a point but he was simply offering amazing customer service.

I have never met with John but I talked with him for the first time today on the phone. We are meeting up tomorrow to test out the sub, I will let loose on it and make several videos for you as well. Maybe that will help put this to rest.

are you implying im scared? if your are your don't know me/are retarded.. i waited 7 weeks for the woofer, it got here and sounded good around tuning.. at low volumes i did a bunch of test tones and sweeps.. it sounded fine.. i modified the port and tried it crossed @ 60 and 30(BPed)after break in it sounded like it was staring to lack ^ 60.. it would move ONLY forward on some meterial above 55 or so. output was very lacking given the amount of throw after the suspensions loosened up.. its not terribly loose, its simply when it reaches a certian point it has no control over the driver.. even sealed up its going to do the same exact thing.. i told you the problem... the drives therminally is fine, but I got pissed and cranked the shit out of it... like i said before i used alot of woofers... if you want ill send it in, you cna see when its broken in how the spider is not very linear, despite what you claim..I'll take the 200 and put it towards my build....

i don't go around telling lies or speading roomers, but im not going to recommend people a woofer that just doesn't perform good.. hell 2 days.. been at this shit for 10+ years.. never see and woofer move from rest forward back to rest.. AKA A DC sine wave.. even changing the phase i got the same result.. i had a 2512A that i used before i left homwnd it performed excellent.. so its not the install... GL john ill have you woofer packaged if you want it back.. no sweat off my back.. i'll do back to the source thats never failed me even when i ran 2x the power..
