advice on new amp/system redo

hey caraudio forum-goers-

im redoin my cars system, and im not sure which type or brand of amp to go with this time around.

its a sad little 2002 pontiac sunfire,

in the back is these, Kenwood KFC-6982ie, which are doin 90 watts rms each at 4 ohms,

and in the front is these, Alpine SPS-46C2, 30 watts rms at 4 ohms..and im considering putting kenwood tweeters with built in crossovers up front as well

what im hopin someone can help me with is whether its worth going with a 4 channel amp or 2 channel (i cant decide due to the the fronts being so tiny),

and the other thing is brands. there are a few amps on sonicelectronix and other sites that are 100 watts rms x 4 channels, but theyre brands that i cant find review on anywhere..for example the (Kole Audio PH4-1000).

my last ditch is going to be either this amp (Kenwood KAC-7205), or this one (Kenwood KAC-7204), because in the end, powering my rears are more important to me than having them all powered.

thanks for any advice anyone can give me!

sorry, additional question. my understanding is that it is always better to have a higher rms number being provided from the amp than the rms number on the speakers being powered, preventing the burning out of voice coils.

hypothetically, if i were to use an amp that didnt have a higher rms rating per speaker than the speakers could take, but only ran the speakers at 65% of their max volume the majority of the time, would the speakers still be in danger of burning out?

no i would def get something in the 100 to 125 rms range, you dont want to put the gains all the way up due to clipping, distortion is the number one killer of speakers, not power. for the price the mb quart is the way 2 go, for the best quality i love the crescendo

I am not sure where you got this from (Cotjones maybe), but you are completely incorrect. You cannot blow a speaker/subwoofer by UNDERPOWERING it. If you don't have an O-Scope, then don't buy a 1000 watt amp, and try to use it on a 500 watt rms subwoofer (No matter how low you turn the gain/input).

Qbenjamin- thanks for the comment but mclerico83 nailed what i was looking for. clipping is what i was looking to avoid, sorry for my terrible explanation of what i was looking for
