Hello all, new here so go easy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'm based in the UK, and have decided that its about time I got a decent head unit in my car. I have also decided it was about time I got in car navigation as well. I'm trying to decide whether it is worth getting a satnav built into a head unit or getting a separate unit (e.g. Tomtom, Garmin, Navman etc).
My criteria for the navigation is for updatable UK and european mapping, traffic alerts and re-routing and speed display with updatable speed camera location detection.
As far as the actual A/V part of the head unit goes, I'm after a decent quality audio output, DVD, support for USB and standard audio jack input, ipod and bluetooth a bonus.
I've spent the past few days trying to find different offerings for all this but cannot seem to establish a unit that exactly matches my requirements. The Kenwood DNX7200 looks really nice but Im not sure it has support for speed camera locations.
I would really appreciate any recommendations / advice you could offer on the subject. Also, I have never seen a 2-DIN unit up close and am wondering how people might go about protecting them / hiding from view when you leave your car. Do the screens normally have the ability to tilt and retract into the head unit like you might get on a 1-DIN ? Thanks very much for any help.
