Advice needed

Right i've got a MEH9100r with the sub output into a rockford 500a2 thats powering a JL Audio 12 W6v2 at 2 ohms. I want to have more control over the bass so i'm after a base cube. I've seen a few ideas ranging from a calibier base cube (would this downgrade the signal?) which is about £100ish to a phonix gold bass cube which is about £200.

So what would you guys recommend? are there any other type of devices out there? i want to be able to control it on the fly in the front of my Honda CRX with the unit in the boot

You can get a crossover or even a line driver to boost voltage to your amp. Or you could also look into what you mentioned.

erm i've got 4volt preouts anyway from headunit i just need to be able to tweak the bass!

Id suggest a decent crossover so you can raise low end or the pheonix gold bass cube which is basicly the same thing.
