Advice Needed

I just had a stereo installed which includes 2 4x6's in the dash, 2 6 1/2's in the doors, 2 4x10's in the extra cab, 2 tweeters in the doors (at approx ear level) and a 10" sub in a sealed bx in the back. This was all installed in a Chevy S-10 extended cab. I have the dash, doors & tweeters hooked up to a 600 watt amp, the 10" is hooked up to a 400 watt amp by itself and the deck pushes the 4x10's. The problem I am having is the highs are hurting my ears. I am new to a car stereo & have no idea how to get it adjusted so that the tweeters or highs dont kill my ears. I am considering haveing the tweeters removed because the other speakers are at least 2 or 3 ways I believe. Any suggestions on how to get this toned down.

Thanks

Thanks, I have a Pioneer DEH-P670MP HU. I am not sure about the tweeters brand but I believe they are made of paper. I have tried adjusting the treble and turning the loudness off and on and between low, med & high, but it's still too high. I do notice if I put my hand over the tweeters it's not so bad, would covering them up w/ some type of foam or padding lighten them up w/ out totally masking the sound.

Thanks again.
