Leave people to their opinions, as they leave you to yours. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif If they had suggested Rl-p over the xxx "all the way", would you have commented? Hate to break it to you, but there are plenty of people who prefer XXX's to Rl-p's. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

the RL-p definitely sounds better... and will run more effeciant than the XXX, by far. The XXX DEFINITELY has more potential for output though, just takes power to get it goin.

If you can only fit one XXX, you can only fit one RL-P //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yes I would have, I would have agreed...reason...Look below

Ok guys....What to do?

I have a 12" XXX

I have a Tahoe with 3rd rows.

Im building a ported fiberglass box for behind the 3rd row.

Only 1 12 xxx can fit back there.

I love SQL.

Would i be happier with 2 12" RL-ps? Or should i just get 1 15" RL-p?

I'm leaning toward the 15", incase i decide to ditch the third row, then i could get 2 more 15"s.

What to do?

Are you happy with your switch? Either from RL-p to XXX, or XXX to RL-p?

LET ME KNOW!!!

For SQL

2 12" RL-P>1 12"xxx

Had he have said 2 xxx vs 2 rl-p's hmmm...that would have been a tough choice for me, I probly would have kept quite so as not to put my foot in my mouth //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Thank you for posting and have a nice day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I would honestly go with the 2 12" RL-P. They would/should have more output then the one XXX. They seem to have a good track record, and a guy with great customer service.
hows he gonna do that if he can barely fit a 12 xxx? I find it hard to believe both subs (in a single sub setup, same size, with optimal conditions) would have an equal output.

u can recone a 12" XXX into an 18 if u wanted
Ok, yea i understood that.

BUT what i was asking is it i recone a 12" into a 18"

Would it THEN need to be in the space of a 18"??

My mind is telling me yes, so y recone? Correct me if i'm wrong.

spkrman nailed it...

teh rl-p is the better sounding of the two, in most people's opinions.. the xxx has greater output potential. no denying that. the rl-p will also work in less space then the xxx, but two 12" rl-p's will need the same volume as one ported xxx, and IMHO, the xxx would keep up output wise, but hte rl-p's would definitely sound better.

the comments about the xxx just flat out owning the rl-p are way off base, unless ur just talking output only. in the world of sql, the rl-p more then holds it's own, and in sq, the rl-p owns, IMO. both are excellent woofers, both have a particular application in mind.

that being said, big power, big room and wanting more spl in ur sql, the xxx is definitely the better choice. less room, less power and wanting more sq in ur sql, the rl-p is the better decision.
