I drive a 97 Jeep Wrangler and unlike most people, I'm completely happy with the stock radio and speakers sound. However, I would like to add some features to interface with my iphone without putting in a new stereo. I've had an upgraded stereo stolen out of a Jeep before, and had my vinyl windows slashed by stupid thieves who didn't realize they could simply unzip the windows. I do not want my stereo to attract any attention. I'm hoping someone can give me advice about any system that I can install under the dashboard that will pair with my iphone via bluetooth.
I want to play the phone's music, phone calls and navigation wirelessly. The radio I have supports a "cd changer", and I've found interfaces that will convert the "cd changer" to a simple AUX-IN. What I was looking for is a product that speaks bluetooth A2DP & HFP, can feed audio directly to the radio, can power on with the car, has a remote mic I can install close to the driver, possibly with a remote button I can install on the dash for accepting/ending calls. The closest thing I've found is "Satechi Bluetooth Hands-free Car", however this unit is designed to plug into the lighter socket. I've thought about possibly attempting to get this unit, disassemble it to hardwire it into the system, but I was really hoping that someone would know of a product (or combination of products) that can accomplish my needs the right way.
