Advice for a particularly tricky build: 2 L7 15" in a Mustang vert

Hey all

So I've been playing with this in my head for about 2 years now, and I am once again, reviving the dream.

I have since removed my back seat, and home-made an enclosure, but built it very poorly, simply making a box, without corner, nor top to bottom, nor left to right reinforcements.

It's a shoe box. And the L7's are beating it to a pulp.

I'm realizing that I have two options:

Get the slap into the trunk. This requires I build a completely new enclosure, that will be a much smaller volume, MUCH more difficult to install, and I'll have to subscribe to AAA as I won't have access to my spare tire, and may as well use it to add to volume.

This, however, will give me a back seat back, which I want VERY much, as I'm again living with my family and I'd love to tote them around beautiful Southern California with the top down.

Option two: reinforce the box in my back seat, requiring me to simply purchase cordless power tools (I live in an apartment complex and will be working in parking lots), cut some triangles and braces out of a 2x4 sheet of 3/4" MDF, and wood glue them in. Much easier, MUCH more slap, built in wind deflector (I'll upload pics soon), and overall less work, But, no back seat for the family to enjoy.

Something to note: if I go with option 1: I'll have to relocate not only the two L7's, but the Kinetik HC2400, two ZX1000.1's and will need an additional 20+ feet of 0 gauge power line.

Man, that's frustrating - you've got a decent amount of trunk space - but the opening dictates how big of a box you can actually fit in there...

A few options:

1. go sealed instead of ported, will be much smaller enclosure.

2. Build 2 separate enclosures (one for each woofer). There may be enough wiggle room there to get both boxes into the trunk then. Build a couple mockups out of cardboard.

3. Build the box in the car. This would give you the most space - but is a bit more problematic on the assembly - and removal if you ever decide to take it back out.

I'd go with number 2 myself...

Sell the L7s and get smaller subs.

I'm liking the idea of getting different subs lol. Get something with more power handling and throw everything you've got at them.

I'd go with number 2 myself...

Number 2 is pretty good . #3 is the choice I would go with.you maybe able to dso it in halves. Is fiberglassing an option for you?

You don't have room for 2 L7's in the proper sized enclosure. They like big boxes....

I had a 99 GT hard top. I had the amp under the rear seat. If you took out the spare tire and the bottom rug you'd have more room to get the box in but I suspect a box for them wouldn't fit no matter what.

99 COUPE owner. I had to fight the small trunk.. But I fit a 11CUFT box in there. thats ABSOLUTE BIGGEST POSSIBLE. I need to put build pics up here. I had 2 15" L7s in this car. PITA and you better be strong or have some **** strong buddies.

After further research on the L7's, I realize there's no way I'm every going to get them to reach their full potential in the trunk.

They're gonna want around 12 cubes net, so I'm going to abandon that idea, and focus my efforts on a SQ focused system.

So to conclude, could you guys lead me to where I could learn about and design a SQ setup?

I have all of my equipment, as well as 4 boxes of speakers and amps unopened from kicker I've never installed.

My hope is that I can use the value of them to purchase my SQ equipment?
