Adnormal CD player issue

First am not sure if this is the right section to post this. If it is my bad and ill move it were it shouild go.

Now heres my issue. I have an Eclipse AV8022 cd/dvd player.I bought it broken and had it referbed from United Radio. When i got it, the deck would not play cds/dvds. I sent the deck in. When I got it back, it plays dvds now, but will not emmit audio from a cd. It loads the disc just fine and you can see it count the track time, but it doesnt emmit any audio from the cd. Its works great with a dvd tho!?

Does anyone know why it will emmit audio from a dvd, but not a cd?

lol well in anyother circumstance it would be, but it is under USR warrenty and am sending it back to them to fix their mistake.

I was just interested if anyone knew what the issue with it was.

how do you have it connected? speaker lead short someplace would be my first guess, also are you using pre outs or does the 8022 have line outs that you are using (im not familiar with the specific model)

the 8022 does not have an internal amp. only pre outs. it has the main unit that has a cable that runs to the brain box.

i dont think its a speaker lead short. the speaker wire from the speaker to the amp appears to be fine, as well as the rcas. also it only does it when playing a cd. i can change it to radio or dvd and it plays music just fine. i dunno

anyone eles have an idea?

also kinda off topic but i didnt want to open a whole new thread.....what would cause a cd to not eject from a cd player? how hard of a fix is it?
