So is this pretty much only useful if you'rre only going to listen to regular music? cause I know I have some stuff that's really close to 0db...

I set my gains on -10db tones. Just never play test tones above -10db. You will be safe on music as long as you have at least a little XP in caraudio. Most music is what -6bd And you will never get full power from your amp setting @ 0db. But it is the SAFE way to do it for teh n00bs.

I'd also suggest that you and everyone else save up for an oscope. There's so many things that it can and WILL assist you on.

So i read the formula for my HU: 4V / 3 would equal 1.33 volts. (can't be!) what do i put my volume knob at to calibrate? thanks

So basicaly set the gains like the tutorial but using different tone wich basically mean that the gains will be higher in the end because of lower db tone right? BTW do you know of a place i could find a test tone of -6db at 50htz? ROE doesn't have one. Thanks.
